School Visits

I love bringing my stories directly to young readers right in their school. I have a variety of options to choose from listed below. If you’d like to schedule a school visit, or have any questions, please email me. I am available for in-person visits in the Chicagoland area and virtual visits anywhere!

Diabetes Discussion

Read IT BELONGS TO THE WORLD: Frederick Banting and the Discovery of Insulin. Learn the basics about diabetes and discuss how you can make an impact in your world. Program will be adjusted to age-appropriate level of information based on the grades involved. A great option if a student or teacher lives with diabetes and wants to educate their class about the disease.

Behind the Book

Discussion about the process of writing and getting published. Drafting, revising, editing, working with an agent, illustrator, editor, and publicist.

Using the Story Spine Method to Plot Your Story

Learn about the Story Spine method, popularized by Pixar, a simple way to construct the backbone of your story and establish crucial plot points. Program involves a writing exercise.

Writing Workshop

Small group workshop where students can work on a story they’ve created. Pre-work will be provided and students will learn the process of critiquing stories in a supportive and encouraging environment. 10 students max.
